What Clients Are Saying
I used to find going to the gym just another stressful chore... how should I plan my workout? I barely know how to use the machines and weights, will I look like a fool trying to figure things out?? So I decided to sign up for personal training sessions... I definitely got more than I bargained for! I started working out with Rachel about 3 year ago... We hit it off immediately, and I found that I was looking forward to my sessions with her. Rachel understands the needs of each of her clients... she pushes you when she knows she can, and she will give you a break when she senses you are about to lose it!! Not once did I feel like I wanted to run out of the gym and never return.. ok, maybe that one time I could not lift my arms in the shower to wash my hair! :)
I am not your typical athletic person, and even I found that doing hundreds of lunges, lifting weights, and doing cardio can be fun! I found that I was more toned, had so much more energy, and actually enjoyed my workouts. This is all thanks to Rachel and her ability to connect with you and motivate you!!

Working with Rachel has transformed my physical health and fitness and my life in general! Unfortunately, exercising is a physical and mental commitment for me. I don't naturally enjoy it and it doesn't come easily!
When Rachel and I started working together, I was overweight, seeing a chiropracter 3-4 times a week for back pain, and had little personal balance in my life. Rachel has enabled me to change my life…I have lost 45 pounds, it has been 1 year since my last chiropractic appointment and I am committed to ensuring exercise is part of my daily schedule. I know that I could not have achieved this transformation without Rachel's help—her encouragement, support and continuous focus on making progress against my goals has resulted in me becoming a fit, healthy and happy individual.
Rachel is not only a skilled fitness professional, but a pillar of strength and emotional support who is committed to your goals and enabling you to achieve all that you set out to. Rachel helps me do things that I don't think I can do and I am grateful to have her guidance and support as I continually seek to improve my health and fitness. SHE ROCKS!!!

I have always had such a hard time finding the motivation to strength train whether it was on my own, with a trainer or in a class at the gym. I met Rachel about 6 months ago and instantly found the perfect match for me. I look forward to each session with Rachel as she brings encouragement and positive energy that pushes me beyond my limits. Rachel has such a strong knowledge, not only for personal training, but for the whole person. Rachel's degree in psychology along with her personal training experience creates a very complete and comprehensive training environment.
At our first session, we discussed my athletic goals and Rachel designed a personalized program centered around all of the physical activities I love. This was very important to me because in previous training situations I had a tendency to lose focus. I have more energy now throughout the day. And the challenges that Rachel puts me through in workouts helps me to better face my daily challenges as well.
Since working out with Rachel, I have met my fitness goals of increasing upper body, lower body and core strength. Rachel and I continue to make new goals which keeps me on track.

Thanks Rachel
It was a beautiful, sunny day. I wanted to stay in bed and enjoy the wonderful
weather from under the covers. Alas, after several failed
attempts, Lee finally got me out of bed and off we went--he
took out his bike and I put on my running shoes.
We agreed to meet at a brunch place 3 miles away. I was a bit apprehensive about the run during the first few blocks; my usual doubts dogging each step.
During my nemesis mile, that first mile, I struggled with the negative buzz in my head and the dullness in my calves.
By the end of the first mile, though, all that training with Rachel kicked
in. My breathing evened out. My pacing stabilized. I took
in the sun and
bopped to the music. I enjoyed myself.
Rachel taught me what I needed to do so that I can enjoy running. The
track workouts, the long runs, the push-ups, the damn lunges...
Now that I'm training without Rachel for the first time
in years, I truly
appreciate what a wonderful trainer she is.
Thanks, Rachel! I'll try to do you proud this running season.

For Rachel
It was one of those gorgeous, although still 15 degrees
too cool for me, days in San Francisco. The sun was shining,
there was a slight breeze and we were shopping. Ah, heaven.
At least for me. For Lee, the five hours of shopping
was almost too much to bear.
This is the backdrop for why an afternoon nap before meeting up with Mojo would have been perfect. PERFECT. What better way to reward ourselves for the hard hours of strolling and decision making that shopping requires?
Alas, the nap did not happen. Instead, I got my butt outside and completed seven hill sprints and 100 lunges. As usual, I was really happy that I decided to break out a sweat rather than curl up for a snooze but man, it was a close call.
This is for Rachel, my personal trainer. As much as I hate hate hate doing lunges (she makes me do them way too often), I love the benefit they have on my running.
Running, 1. Napping, 0.
